Please read through all of the information on the website before contacting us. Most of the information you will need is on here. Please read the FAQ's below, if your question isn't answered you can complete the Contact Us form at the bottom of the page.
If a course is full or not open yet, please do not call or email asking to be in the course, you will just be asked to wait until the next intake as we do not hold a waiting list. Intakes are first in, best dressed.
WHY AREN'T CLASSES ALWAYS OPEN?
The SCDOC is a 100% volunteer-run organisation. Unfortunately, we just do not have the resources or instructors to open more frequent classes. We apologise for this inconvenience, if we could offer more frequent intakes or take on more people, we would! When classes are too big the quality of training goes down, and we want everyone to get the most out of training their dog.
HOW MUCH ARE CLASSES?
Puppy Pre-School: $100 or $160 for the dual enrolment.
Beginner's Obedience: $100. This includes $80 in class fees, $10 annual membership and a once-off $10 joining fee.
Green, Red and Black Classes: $5 each.
WHEN IS TRAINING ON?
Obedience training is Monday nights only. We hold Puppy School on Wednesday nights.
CAN I START SOONER THAN THE WEBSITE STATES?
No, our only courses are as advertised on this website. Each intake starts and finishes as a group.
WHERE ARE THE CLASSES HELD?
We are located in Buderim at the Buderim Sports Complex, past the hockey fields on the right. We have our own private, fully fenced grounds. Classes are outdoors, on the grass field.
DO YOU OFFER 1 ON 1 TRAINING?
Unfortunately, we only offer group lessons and private or 1 on 1 training is not available.
WHAT IF I HAVE DONE OBEDIENCE TRAINING ELSEWHERE?
If you have done formal obedience training at another club or dog training centre (excluding puppy school) please email us and let us know! After an assessment, we might be able to place you in a higher class!
IT SAYS CLASSES ARE CLOSED, CAN I GET IN?
Unfortunately, if the website says classes are closed it means just that. We are all volunteers and cannot cater for more people than we already take, we apologise for this. Please follow our Facebook Page for updates and announcements about the next intake.
We do not hold places for anyone and do not keep a wait list.
I HAVE DONE PUPPY SCHOOL WITH MY DOG, CAN I SKIP BEGINNERS?
Puppy school is not the same as the obedience classes. Unless you have done obedience training at another club or training centre and can prove the skills in an assessment, we cannot skip you up a level. The beginner's course is very fast-moving and a lot is learned each week, we promise it won't be boring! You also need to be competent in the things we cover to practice them in the next level!
YOUR CLASS TIMES & DATES DON'T SUIT WHAT ELSE CAN YOU OFFER ME?
Everything we offer is on this website, as stated above we only do Monday night classes and can only take on a limited number of people at a time.
