If a course is full or not open yet, please do not call or email asking to be in the course, you will just be asked to wait until the next intake as we do not hold a waiting list. Intakes are first in, best dressed.

WHY AREN'T CLASSES ALWAYS OPEN FOR ENROLMENT?

 

The SCDOC is a 100% volunteer-run organisation. Unfortunately, we just do not have the resources or instructors to open more frequent classes. If we could run more frequent intakes or offer more classes, we would!

When classes are too big the quality of training goes down, and we want everyone to get the most out of their classes. 

 

HOW MUCH ARE THE CLASSES?

 

Pricing is available on the respective pages for Puppy School and Beginner's Obedience.

Green, Red and Black Classes are $7 each.

Trial training is $100/yr. Scentwork is $120 for the six week starter course.

Participation in any class requires membership, which is $10/yr for one adult, $15/yr for a couple or $5/yr for teens.

Upon first enrolling a joining fee of $20 applies.
 

 

WHEN IS TRAINING ON?

 

Obedience classes are on Monday nights, Scentwork is on Tuesdays. Puppy School and Trial Training is on Wednesdays.
 

 

CAN I START SOONER THAN THE WEBSITE STATES?

 

No, our only courses are as advertised on this website. Each intake starts and finishes as a group, we cannot accept new enrollees mid-way through.

 

WHERE ARE THE CLASSES HELD?

 

We are located on the Sunshine Coast, QLD, in Buderim at the Buderim Sports Complex, past the hockey fields on the right. We have our own private, fully fenced grounds. Classes are held outdoors, on the grass field.
 

 

DO YOU OFFER 1 ON 1 TRAINING?

 

We only offer group classes. Private or 1 on 1 training is not available.

 

WHAT IF I HAVE DONE OBEDIENCE TRAINING BEFORE?

 

If you have done formal obedience training at another club or dog training centre (excluding puppy school) please email us and let us know! After an assessment, we might be able to place you in a higher class!
 

 

THE WEBSITE SAYS CLASSES ARE CLOSED, CAN I GET IN?

 

Unfortunately, if the website says classes are closed it means just that. We are all volunteers and cannot cater for more people than we already take, we apologise for this. Please follow our Facebook Page for updates and announcements about the next intake.

We do not hold places for anyone and do not keep a waitlist. We recommend jumping online to enrol at 11 AM on intake day to get your enrollment in.
 

 

I HAVE DONE PUPPY SCHOOL WITH MY DOG, CAN I SKIP BEGINNERS?

 

Puppy school is not the same as the beginner's obedience classes. Unless you have done obedience training at another club or training centre and can prove those skills in an assessment, we cannot skip you up a level. The beginner's course is very fast-moving and a lot is learned each week, so it won't be boring! You also need to be competent in the skills and techniques we cover in beginner's so you can perfect and extend on them in the next class level!

 

YOUR CLASS TIMES & DATES DON'T SUIT ME. WHAT ELSE CAN YOU OFFER?

 

Everything we offer is on this website. As stated above we only do Monday night classes and can only take on a limited number of people at a time.
