  FAQS

WHY AREN'T CLASSES ALWAYS OPEN?

The SCDOC is a 100% volunteer-run organisation. Unfortunately, we just do not have the resources to open more frequent intakes. We apologise for this, if we could take on more people we would! When classes are too big, the quality of training is reduced, and we want everyone to get the most out of their training.

CAN MY DOG COME IF HE HAS AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOUR ISSUES?

We do not take aggressive dogs into our classes. Our beginner's classes are group training sessions that cater to general obedience and good manners, not specific behavioural issues. If you are having problems, please email us at scdocinc@gmail.com. If your pooch is aggressive, we will recommend you see a 1 on 1 behaviourist or behaviour modification specialist.

IS MY DOG TOO OLD TO COME TO TRAINING?

No! There is no age limit for dogs who come to train with us! Some Golden Oldies come and train just for fun and exercise!

IS MY DOG TOO YOUNG TO COME TO TRAINING?

Dogs must be 14 weeks and over to come to our obedience classes. For dogs under 14 weeks, we recommend our puppy pre-school.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?

8 Week Course: 1 orientation session + 7 fieldwork lessons + 1 year membership to the club + once off joining fee

WHERE ARE THE CLASSES HELD?

We are located in Buderim at the Buderim Sports Complex, past the hockey fields on the right. We have our own private, fully fenced grounds (outdoor, grass field training)

I HAVE DONE OBEDIENCE TRAINING ELSEWHERE!

If you have done obedience training with your dog at another club or dog training centre (not puppy school) please let us know! We might be able to place you in a higher class! Email scdocinc@gmail.com to discuss.

WHAT HAPPENS ONCE THE 8 WEEKS IS OVER?

Once you have finished the 8 weeks you graduate into the next level of obedience training! After graduating beginner's obedience, classes are $7 each for however long you wish to keep training and progressing up the levels! We have four levels of obedience training, so there is still plenty left to learn!
